		84～88年録音の初期音源集は、直進ハードコア・パンク。隠し録りされた練習中の音源も含まれているようだしダメ感も滲むエナジーだが、これが原点であり若気の至りと片付けられない。タイトルはNOFXが91に表紙を飾った老舗パンク・ファンジンの名前。

'88 -liberal animation

		音も歌詞も純然たるパンク／ハードコア・シーン出身ということがよく伝わるハジケっぷり。この頃からレッド・ツェッペリンなど色んな物を入れるのが好きだった。タイトルは動物解放の考えに対する皮肉。エピタフのブレッドによるプロデュース。 '88年にWassail RecordsからLPでリリースされ後、'91年EpitaphよりRe-pressされた。

		今のメロコアのパンク・ロックの原型になっているようなメロディック・パンク・サード・アルバム。ギターソロやアコギを入れたり意表を突くコーラスを入れたりスカを入れたりといった小ワザのセンスは心憎いというしかない。ふざけセンスも何もかもその辺のものとはレベルが違う。

		現在の4人の初フルアルバム。禁じ手無しで自分達の身を確立した彼らだけに、もはや大変化はないわけだが、エルの音楽センスの注入でサウンドの深み、味わいが百倍増し。シングル・カットされた(6)Liza and louiseや映画のサントラで使われた(8)Please play this song on the radioの他、(1)Soul doubt (2)Stickin in my eye (3)Bobなどがある。この作品を名盤と唱える者も少なくない。必聴！

		NOFX史上最もメロディック・ファスト・ナンバーが詰まった作品。前作の完成度の高いアルバムに引き続き、このアルバムとメロコア・ブームが合間見合ったことによって、完璧にキング・オブ・パンクの称号を得たといっていい。(1)Linoleumや(5)Don't cal me whiteなどの数々の名曲を挙げれば、パンクの名盤としかいいようがない。(2)Leave it aloneのイントロはエリック・メルビンが担当し、また、この曲はプロモーション・ビデオが作成された。

		スタイルは変わってはいないが、イケイケメロコアって感じではなく、重い雰囲気の作品。前作、前々作とどうしても比べてしまう点、多少残念に思えてしまう。Liveでお馴染み(1)Hobophobic(5)Hot dog in the hallway、パンク・オー・ラマ2に収録されている(11)Whatever Didi wantsや他、(13)Drop the worldがある。

		スカやレゲエが復活し、前作の反動が押し押しで迫る強力なメロディック・ファスト・パンク・アルバムと言える。 1個1個の音が強く、走る音楽だけで有無を言わさぬ説得力はさすがである。またまたノーエフがやってくれたと言った感じで個人的な評価としては名盤に数えてしまう。軽々しく思われるかもしれないがそんなことはない、佳曲ぎっしりのアルバムだ

'99 - The Decline

		1曲18分のシングル。1曲とは言っても曲調はかなり変わって行き、何曲もをつなげてあるような感じで、マイクいわく「全部聴け！」と言うことらしいが、この18分は全く飽きさせない、かなり内容の濃い作品となっている。それにしてもマイクの底無しの音楽センスには脱帽してしまうばかりだ。

'00 - pump up the valuum

		決して落ち着くことを知らないNOFXの8作目は、スカやレゲエなど一切無しの直球パンク・ロック・アルバムとなった。NOFXはパンク・オー・ラマ5にアルバムタイトルの曲「Pump Up The Valuum」を提供し、自身のアルバムにはこの曲は入れていない。全体としてインパクトがあり、際立っている曲はこのアルバムには存在しないが、「The decline」辺りからの特徴あるベースサウンドとメルビンが叫ぶコーラスが、新しいNOFXサウンドとして印象深い。

		NOFXとRANCIDがお互いの曲をカヴァーし合った夢のようなアルバム！！全12曲入り。ジャケットは緑ヴァージョンとオレンジヴァージョンがあり、緑はNOFが先に、オレンジはRANCIDの曲が先に収録されている。順番が違うだけで中身は一緒。オリジナルの楽曲はもちろん最高だが、カヴァーではNOF・RANCID共に自分のバンドのカラーでカヴァーしていてこれまた最高！！凄く新鮮！！絶対買いの一枚。

		PUNKORAMAなどのコンピレーションに入っていた曲とサーファーなどのアナログなどに入ってた曲をかき集めた感じのアルバム。NOFは沢山のコンピに参加してるし沢山のアナログを出してるから今まではマニアックに探し回る必要があったけど、それがイッキに聴けちゃうのはマジヤバイ！！コンピとは言っても良い曲多い。
